123rd Anniversary of Phramongkolthepmuni

10th October, 2007

On 10th October 1884, in the rural village of Songpinong, Supanburi Province, Thailand, Sodh Meekaewnoi -- later renown as Luang Pu Wat Paknam -- was born with a noble mission into the world.

Each stage of his biography had never wavered from the pursuit of perfection. He used the power of the good deeds he had accumulated over the course of many lifetimes to progress closer to the Ultimate Dhamma. With wholehearted dedication he revived the state of Buddhism in Thailand by teaching the profundities of Vijja Dhammakaya to a core of disciples and upholding the faith of masses to the practice of meditation. Today, followers and students of Dhammakaya meditation of Luang Pu Wat Paknam number millions throughout the world.On his 121st anniversary, his third golden statue was cast, followed by the start of the Memorial Hall of pyramid-like octagonal shape on his 122nd anniversary. The construction work has been in progress so far. The upcoming 123rd anniversary on 10th October 2007, we will gather once again to cast the concrete to cover the original wooden column of his home at his original birthplace to mark this spot as the landmark.
